A triumph of the human spirit

Today I witnessed a triumph of the human spirit.

After 1589 submissions, a digg user (MondoPest) had his first popular story. More impressive than LucasArts announcing a new Star Wars MMORPG is MondoPest's own triumphant story: a remarkable journey through digging adversity.

Unfortunately, his popularity success ratio is still at 0%, but Diggers know that MondoPest is truly a MondoSuccess. I'd like to extend my heartiest congratulations and hope this is only the first of many more to come.

3 cheers for MondoPest!

Certainly fills me with A New Hope...

Boy fed zoo reptiles to crocodile

A seven-year-old boy has been filmed going on the rampage at a popular zoo in Australia, killing rare reptiles and feeding live ones to a crocodile.

If that was my kid there's really no way I could hide my pride here. I mean really, that kid was brought up properly and there's no denying it. 3 cheers for the parents of that kid!

Fake popup study sadly confirms most users are idiots

For most of us, security issues happen to "other people"—we block popup ads, we carefully examine dialog boxes and, for those of us on the Mac platform, we snicker when confronted with something that attempts to mimic a Windows system warning. But everyone knows that they are exceptional—what's the behavior of a more typical user like? Some researchers have tested how college students respond to fake dialog boxes in browser popup windows and found that the students are so anxious to get the dialog out of the way, they click right through obvious warning signs...

How To play Sony PlayStation (PSX) Games on your PC

from article on howtomakeuseof.com:

I’m sure most of you have heard of emulation somewhere. So what is it exactly?

Wikipedia says that “an emulator duplicates the functions of one system, using a different system, so that the second system behaves like (and appears to be) the first system.” This means that we can make our PC mimic a specific system, which thereby enables us to run those system-specific games on our computers.

My take: The author certainly made use of his 8th grade essay writing skills... In all seriousness, the article does have good tips. I've been playing roms ever since the first reliable SNES rom emulators came out. It's worth a look!
